Katie gets her running shoes on for Cruse Lancashire!

Despite being a national organisation, each area of Cruse Bereavement Care is responsible for its own fundraising. We are reliant on generous people to ensure our services are available to bereaved people within the county.

One of our supporters, Katie Johnson of Preston, is currently training for the Tatton Park Half Marathon in November in memory of Tom. Cruse Lancashire has provided support to Tom’s family members and Katie has chosen to raise money for Cruse Lancashire in his memory.

Katie says: “Tom is my friends son he sadly passed away in July. When I decided to take up the challenge of my first half marathon I wanted to do it for a worthy cause, I asked my friend Karen (Toms mum) which charity they had chosen to support and she told me about Cruse and how they have helped support her and her family . I have since looked up your charity and realised how much they do to help so many people. I'm hoping to raise £500 at the moment just over half way there. I would be absolutely thrilled to raise as much as possible for Cruse so I can give something back to a charity that has helped so many people.”

We would like to thank Katie immensely for this kind act of generosity and wish her the very best of luck with her half marathon run!
