Cruse and ICCM

For the last few years Cruse Lancashire have developed great relations with Preston Cemetary and Crematorium. This year we have been chosen to receive a donation from the Institute of Cremetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM).

Following a cremation of a deceased person, the cremated remains contain metals such as items used in the construction of the coffin and on numerous occasions, orthapedic implants. These metals are recyled and the money is donated to a charity. We should state that the recyling of the metals resulting from cremation is only carried out with the written consent of each bereaved family.

The money donated to Cruse Lancashire is used to train new volunteers which enables us to see more bereaved clients. In the next few years, we plan to develop our services to reach even more bereaved people and this kind donation will ensure that our services can continue as long as possible.

We would like to thank ICCM for this donation.
